Nahum Summary

The Book of Nahum, a part of the Christian Old Testament, shows that God is slow to anger but will also bring vengeance and wrath. Nahum, in particular, warns the Ninevites of coming events, although he is partly in favor of the destruction.

The book describes the fall of Nineveh in 612 BCE. Nahum describes the siege of Nineveh’s troops as they try in vain to halt the invaders. Nahum himself even becomes a participant in the battle.
